Country Couture
Every year, when we begin a new Fall collection, we start by looking at the world around us and identifying shifts that have taken place over the past twelve months. While absorbing all of the new trends and emerging ideologies we have recognized certain consistencies.
One defining theme for Fall 2008 is global increase in interest and awareness toward the environment. People are becoming “green”. In the fashion industry, consumers are instinctively drawn to fibers that are derived from natural sources. And in tune with a desire to “go back to nature”, people are also ‘going back to their human roots” by seeking connections with others on a more personal and tactile level. Consumers appreciate items that are made by hand, and then in turn are placed into their own hands. They are intrigued by traditional trades and hand crafts that require expertise, skill and a thorough dedication of time and heart.
Our Fall 2008 Kinross collection reinforces and unites these themes of handmade distinction and natural beauty. Our product is crafted with adherence to 200 year-old Scottish tradition for the finest quality in Cashmere. Hand-combed, spun and knit according to these traditions, Kinross Cashmere represents the ultimate in craft, refinement, purity and quality. It is made by hand and approved by touch…
Our inspiration, containing an ode to nature, was acquired on a stroll through the rich countryside and rolling hills of Berwick – Upon – Tweed, Scotland. The subtle play of colors and textures throughout the moss-covered and painted landscapes greatly influenced our collection’s theme. “Country Couture”, in its use of color, pattern, texture and silhouette.
